The vision for the future is to continue to provide adequate residential aged care accommodation
for those elderly residents of the Wentworth Shire and Sunraysia who are no longer able to live in their own homes.
This will be possible with ongoing consultation, voluntary work, donations and special projects involving Residents, their representatives, staff, committee of management and members of the wider community. These stakeholders are encouraged to take an active part in the overall successful operation of Murray House.
Regulatory Compliance
The Commonwealth Government announced the Aged Care Reform Package in the form of the new Aged Care Act, 1997.
The key areas of the Act are:
Building Certification;
Accreditation Standards;
User Rights;
Prudential Arrangements; and
Concessional Ratios.
The Commonwealth Government has established an independent organisation, the Accreditation Standards Agency, to manage the assessment process of Aged Care facilities. Murray House Aged Care is an accredited facility and is committed to maintaining a successful accreditation status.
Additional Laws, Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice that relate to the facility have been identified and integrated into the relevant work practices of staff.
